Hailey Bieber paired distressed denim shorts and an oversized Balenciaga T-shirt with one of the most recognizable Air Jordan 1 colorways of the era while grabbing lunch at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood on March 30, 2021.

Her Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG sneakers in “Lucky Green” brought a sharp hit of color to the otherwise relaxed outfit. Released in October 2020, the white, black, and green high-tops were inspired by Michael Jordan’s 63-point playoff performance against the Boston Celtics in 1986.

The sneakers also captured what made Bieber’s street style distinctive during this period: she regularly mixed casual basics with designer pieces and statement footwear. Here, reconstructed EB Denim Levi’s shorts and a bucket hat were worn with Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and the Jordan 1s.

Hailey Bieber’s Peach Tattoo With Justin Bieber

The West Hollywood outing came one day after Bieber showed off a peach tattoo by celebrity tattoo artist Brian Woo, better known as Dr. Woo. The design matched a peach tattoo Justin Bieber had revealed in celebration of his single “Peaches.”

Released on March 19, 2021, “Peaches” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. His sixth studio album, Justice, simultaneously reached number one on the Billboard 200.

Justin revealed his peach emoji tattoo on March 28, posting photos of the design Dr. Woo inked on his neck. Hailey followed with her own peach tattoo on the inside of her forearm and shared the matching design on Instagram Stories on March 29.

Balenciaga and EB Denim Give Her Jordans a Relaxed Backdrop

The following day, Bieber covered the new tattoo with an oversized T-shirt while heading to lunch at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.

Keeping the outfit relaxed, Hailey wore a washed-black oversized Balenciaga T-shirt featuring a flame-style “B” graphic on the left chest.

She paired it with reconstructed EB Denim Levi’s distressed shorts, creating an oversized-on-top, abbreviated-on-the-bottom silhouette that kept the focus on her sneakers.

Bucket Hat, Bottega Veneta Pouch, and White Sunglasses Complete the Look

Wearing her blonde hair in loose waves, Bieber added a white Urban Outfitters bucket hat embroidered with leaves. She also wore chunky white-framed Oscar and Frank “Cortez” sunglasses and a black protective face mask.

For another luxury element, the Who’s in My Bathroom? host carried Bottega Veneta’s soft leather “The Pouch” clutch in black.

Air Jordan 1 “Lucky Green” Sneakers Bring Color to Hailey’s Street Style

The standout footwear choice was a pair of Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG sneakers in the “Lucky Green” colorway.

Released in October 2020 as part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2020 collection, the sneakers combine a white leather base with bright green overlays, contrasting black panels, and small red accents.

The colorway references Michael Jordan’s historic performance against the Boston Celtics at Boston Garden on April 20, 1986. Jordan scored 63 points in the playoff game, setting an NBA postseason scoring record.

The “Lucky Green” Air Jordan 1 originally retailed for $170. As with many older Jordan releases, availability and resale prices now depend on size, condition, and marketplace rather than the shoe’s original retail price. From Dr. Martens to Jordans: Hailey Bieber’s Spring 2021 Shoe Rotation

The Lucky Green Jordans were part of a particularly varied stretch of footwear choices for Bieber in spring 2021. Just three weeks earlier, on March 9, she paired light-wash Acne jeans, a cropped white Eterne top, and a tailored Magda Butrym coat with glossy Dr. Martens 1461 patent-leather oxfords in Beverly Hills.

Her footwear changed again in April. On April 7, Bieber headed to Pilates with Kendall Jenner wearing black Sorella activewear and bright pink The Attico “Noah” satin slides, trading the structured high-top silhouette of her Jordans for an easy slip-on style.

Less than two weeks later, she went in a dressier direction for an April 20 business meeting in Los Angeles. Bieber paired Magda Butrym tailoring and Musier Paris trousers with blue Amina Muaddi “Begum” slingback pumps, distinguished by their crystal brooches and the designer’s signature flared heels.

Taken together, the looks show how widely Bieber moved between footwear categories during the period: polished Dr. Martens oxfords, retro basketball sneakers, satin slides, and crystal-embellished designer pumps. In the Chateau Marmont outfit, the Air Jordan 1s sit comfortably in the middle of that spectrum, bringing sneaker history and bold color to an otherwise uncomplicated combination of denim and an oversized tee.

Why the Air Jordan 1 “Lucky Green” Became a Celebrity Street-Style Favorite

Hailey Bieber was not alone in embracing the “Lucky Green.” Saweetie and Draya Michele were also spotted in the colorway, showing how easily its vivid green panels and classic black-and-white foundation could work across different wardrobes. The green provides the statement, while the familiar Air Jordan 1 color blocking keeps the sneaker surprisingly versatile.

That balance helps explain the shoe’s celebrity appeal. Rather than disappearing into an outfit, the “Lucky Green” can become the focal point against black, white, denim, or other neutrals. On Bieber, the sneakers brought color to an otherwise understated combination of distressed shorts and an oversized tee — a simple styling formula that let the Jordans do most of the visual work.

The “Lucky Green” is also part of a much bigger celebrity relationship with Air Jordans. From classic basketball-inspired pairs to collectible collaborations, stars have repeatedly worked Jordans into outfits that range from leggings and denim to designer tailoring.
