At the iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 19, 2020, Miley Cyrus performed Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” in a sheer black catsuit from Thierry Mugler’s Fall 2020 collection, pairing its sculpted, revealing silhouette with crystal jewelry, a blonde mullet, and bold red lipstick.
Cyrus finished the catsuit with Christian Louboutin’s Chiara pumps, a pointed-toe design combining black suede, sheer mesh panels, crystal embellishments, and approximately four-inch heels.

Together, the Mugler catsuit and Louboutin pumps captured the harder-edged fashion direction Cyrus was embracing around her “Heart of Glass” performance.
Ahead of the performance, Cyrus shared a closer look at the sheer black catsuit from Thierry Mugler’s Fall 2020 collection.
Photographed by Indian American fashion photographer Vijat Mohindra, Miley put her curves on display in a sheer black catsuit with strategically placed black panels that covered her modesty.

Her blonde mullet, bold red lipstick, and glittering eye makeup further referenced the late-1970s rock styling associated with Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry.

The American artist accessorized with some bling, including a Michael Schmidt Studios custom Swarovski crystal choker, stacks of chain bracelets, and several diamond rings.

Cyrus completed the look with Christian Louboutin’s Chiara pumps, pairing the black suede, sheer mesh, and crystal-trimmed stilettos with Mugler’s similarly transparent catsuit.
The statement heels had already appeared on the red carpet in 2019: Hikari Mori wore them with Ralph Russo Couture at the Joker premiere during the Venice Film Festival, while Joey King paired them with a rainbow-striped Attico mini dress at the E! People’s Choice Awards.

The pointed-toe pumps feature open sides, crystal embellishments, mesh panels, and approximately four-inch heels. The crystals also picked up the sparkle of Cyrus’s choker, bracelets, and rings without competing with the catsuit.
Where to find Christian Louboutin Chiara pumps: The Chiara is an older Christian Louboutin style, but pairs occasionally surface on the pre-owned market, including through Farfetch.
Availability varies by size, color, and condition; as of August 2026, Farfetch carried a changing selection of pre-owned Christian Louboutin shoes rather than a consistent supply of the Chiara.

Blondie’s lead singer Debbie Harry gave Miley’s iHeartRadio performance a stamp of approval. On the band’s official Twitter account, she tweeted: “We think @MileyCyrus nailed it.”

She also tweeted about Miley’s recently released Heart of Glass cover, praising the singer for her “divine” rendition.

Miley Cyrus’s High-Heel Style Has Always Had a Rock-Star Edge
From crystal-covered Louboutins to towering platform boots and sculptural stilettos, Cyrus has repeatedly used high heels to sharpen the attitude of a look rather than simply add height. Her footwear choices trace the same evolution seen in her fashion overall: polished red-carpet glamour giving way to bolder, more directional styling without losing her long-running affection for Christian Louboutin.
👠 Explore Miley Cyrus’s Love of Louboutins Sky-High Heels:
- ✨ Miley’s crystal-covered Christian Louboutin Maralena pumps at the 2010 American Music Awards paired dazzling mesh peep-toe heels with a dramatic Marchesa dress and Neil Lane jewelry, an early example of her affinity for statement Louboutins.
- 📏 Her towering Christian Louboutin Exvota sandals became her so-called “Liam shoes” because their approximately 5.5-inch heels helped close the height gap with then-fiancé Liam Hemsworth; she wore the same pair to both The Hunger Games premiere and the Australians in Film Awards.
- 👗 Miley’s 2012 red-carpet wardrobe shows just how often Christian Louboutin heels entered the rotation, from 140mm Exvota platforms with Emilio Pucci and Zimmermann to 120mm Armadillo Bride heels with Jean Paul Gaultier and Lady Indiana heels at the VMAs.
- 👢 Her Bangerz-era footwear pushed the height even further with Christian Louboutin Monicarina boots, a thigh-high suede design set on a dramatic 160mm stiletto heel with a concealed platform.
- 🏆 At the 2024 Grammys, Cyrus returned to Christian Louboutin in Maison Margiela’s split-toe Tabi pumps, pairing the aged-yellow velour and faux-lizard heels with John Galliano’s intricate safety-pin dress.
- 🖤 Her Louboutin connection continued with the Maison Margiela x Christian Louboutin Loubiella pumps, whose four-inch stilettos, Tabi toes, asymmetric straps, and signature red soles sharpened her black Vanity Fair Oscars Party look.
