Lizzo’s Shoe Size, Height, and Best Red Carpet Footwear (From René Caovilla to Platform Boots)

Lizzo is most likely about 5’9″ (175.3 cm), which matches a height she has given on TikTok, though some sources list her as taller at 5’10” (1.78 meters). Lizzo herself has also previously said, “I’m 5’10” and dance is all about framing,” so her reported height varies by about an inch.

Typically wearing a US women’s shoe size 10, she has built a footwear wardrobe that moves easily between crystal-wrapped evening sandals, towering platforms, pointed pumps, chunky sneakers, and stage-ready boots.

Her size can require some flexibility across brands: narrow Italian labels such as René Caovilla may fit more comfortably when sized up, while Stuart Weitzman offers a broader range of extended sizes and wide-width options. On the red carpet, however, fit is only part of the equation. Lizzo consistently chooses shoes that support the mood, proportions, and practical demands of each outfit.

From René Caovilla Cleo sandals beneath Atelier Versace at the Grammys to concealed Thom Browne footwear at the Met Gala, floral slides worn with Yitty, and substantial performance boots, these appearances show how her shoes shift with the occasion while remaining integral to the complete look.

Lizzo’s 2023 Grammy Shoes: Dolce Gabbana Heels, Jeweled Boots, and Metallic Sandals

At the 65th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023, Lizzo treated the ceremony as a series of distinct fashion moments rather than a single red carpet appearance.

Between arriving, performing, and accepting Record of the Year for “About Damn Time,” she changed into three dramatically different looks, each paired with footwear chosen to complement a different stage of the evening.

Her custom Dolce Gabbana red carpet ensemble combined a sculptural floral opera coat with crystal-embellished heels, while her performance look swapped the vibrant palette for a structured black corseted dress and pointed jeweled boots.

Later, she accepted her award in a metallic silver party dress finished with rose-toned strappy sandals, proving that the shoes evolved alongside each outfit rather than remaining an afterthought.

Lizzo’s first look centered on a custom Dolce Gabbana creation built around texture and color. She arrived wrapped in a dramatic orange opera coat hand-embroidered with oversized silk flowers before revealing the coordinating gown underneath.

Once the cape was pulled back, it revealed an orange silk corseted gown trimmed with crystal mesh Swarovski details and rhinestone straps, creating a layered look that remained visually striking from every angle.

Matching sheer fingerless gloves, blood-orange eye makeup, a flower tucked behind one ear, and a sculpted finger-wave curl echoed the floral theme without overwhelming the dress.

Oversized diamond flower rings reinforced the botanical motif, while crystal-embellished Dolce Gabbana heels completed the monochromatic look beneath the floor-length gown.

After the red carpet, Lizzo shifted from vibrant florals to a dramatic all-black performance look. For “About Damn Time” and “Special,” she wore a modern interpretation of the little black dress with a rhinestone-embellished satin corset, sculptural sleeves, and a sweeping feathered train. Pointed jeweled black boots echoed the sparkle of the corset hardware and her oversized diamond cross necklace, giving the performance a darker, more theatrical feel.

Against the choir’s gold robes, her pointed black boots and rhinestone corset gave the performance look a sharper, darker finish.

For the remainder of the ceremony, Lizzo changed into a structured silver party dress with elbow-length sleeves and metallic rose-toned strappy sandals.

She wore the look while accepting Record of the Year for “About Damn Time,” making it the final chapter in a night defined by three distinct shoe and fashion moments.

Across three outfit changes, Lizzo used footwear to reinforce the character of each look. Crystal-embellished Dolce Gabbana heels completed her floral red carpet ensemble, pointed jeweled black boots amplified the drama of her performance look, and metallic rose-toned sandals brought a softer finish to the silver dress she wore while accepting Record of the Year.

Lizzo Wore Thom Browne Couture and Carried a $55,000 Gold Flute at the 2022 Met Gala

Nearly a year before her Grammy Awards outfit changes, Lizzo delivered another memorable fashion moment at the 2022 Met Gala in New York City.

Interpreting the “Gilded Glamour” dress code through Thom Browne couture, she paired an elaborately embroidered black-and-gold coat with a corseted dress, dramatic jewelry, and accessories that drew almost as much attention as the clothing itself.

“It took 22,000 hours to make this coat. I’m just so happy to be in it; I feel like a piece of art,” she said during the Vogue Livestream.

The sweeping Thom Browne coat largely concealed Lizzo’s coordinating black footwear, making the shoes a quiet structural element rather than a focal point.

With the footwear largely concealed beneath the sweeping silhouette, the couture embroidery and gold accents remained the visual focus.

Lizzo Styled Yitty With Floral Slides and a Glossy Pink Coat at The Today Show

Three weeks before the 2022 Met Gala, Lizzo arrived at The Today Show in New York City on April 11 wearing a casual look built around pieces from her Yitty label.

She paired the brand’s black Mesh Me bodysuit and Major Label leggings with a glossy pink faux-fur-trimmed coat and floral-print slide sandals. The flat, open footwear softened the high-shine outerwear while remaining practical for her arrival at the studio.

Stylist Jason Rembert completed the look with drop earrings and diamond rings.

A braided updo, pink eyeshadow, and coordinating face mask continued the coat’s color story without competing with the floral slides.

The floral slides and glossy pink coat showed the casual side of Lizzo’s footwear style. Two years earlier, however, she had approached the Grammy Awards with full old Hollywood glamour, pairing a crystal-covered Versace gown with one of René Caovilla’s most recognizable evening sandals.

Lizzo Wore René Caovilla Cleo Sandals With Atelier Versace at the 2020 Grammys

At the 62nd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on January 26, 2020, Lizzo arrived in a custom white Atelier Versace gown with crystal-wrapped René Caovilla Cleo sandals.

The sculpted sweetheart bodice, hand-sewn Swarovski crystals, thigh-high slit, and sweeping white faux-fur stole created an old Hollywood silhouette, while the exposed slit offered clear glimpses of the sandal’s crystal-covered ankle coils.

Vintage side-parted curls, metallic purple eye makeup, blush nails with glittering gold details, and layered Lorraine Schwartz diamonds reinforced the gown’s polished old Hollywood styling. The manicure’s crystal accents also echoed the embellishment on Lizzo’s René Caovilla sandals.

Stylist Marko Monroe accessorized Lizzo’s look with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. It included two layers of diamond necklaces, diamond earrings, and a statement swirl ring.

Completing the Atelier Versace look, Lizzo wore René Caovilla’s signature white metallic leather Cleo sandals, one of luxury fashion’s most recognizable evening shoe designs.

The style pairs slender 4-inch heels with delicate open-toe straps and the Venetian label’s signature crystal-wrapped spiral ankle coils, mirroring the Swarovski embellishments woven throughout her gown.

First introduced in 1969 and inspired by the shape of an ancient Roman bracelet, the René Caovilla Cleo was exhibited at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 1975 for its sculptural design.

More than five decades later, it remains the house’s signature sandal, reappearing season after season in satin, metallic leather, and crystal-embellished variations.

The Cleo sandals brought polished old Hollywood glamour to Lizzo’s 2020 Grammy appearance. During the breakthrough year that preceded it, however, her footwear choices were more varied, moving between color-matched platforms, streamlined ankle-strap sandals, pointed pumps, and practical stage-ready boots.

Lizzo’s 2019 Red Carpet Shoes Included Moschino Platforms, Stuart Weitzman Mules, and Neon Pumps

As Lizzo moved into the mainstream in 2019, fashion became an increasingly visible extension of her performances and public persona. Her most memorable outfits relied on bold color, exaggerated silhouettes, and footwear selected to preserve the impact of each look.

At the MTV Video Music Awards in Newark, New Jersey, on August 26, 2019, she arrived in a custom red sequin Moschino gown by Jeremy Scott covered with the word “Siren.” A matching feather boa, retro beehive hairstyle, and metallic red platform sandals maintained the monochromatic palette from head to toe.

Her American Music Awards appearance on November 24 offered a different interpretation of statement dressing. Lizzo paired a custom peach-coral Maison Valentino minidress with white square toe Aleena mules from Stuart Weitzman, allowing the clean footwear to balance the dress’s tiered ruffles and asymmetrical silhouette.

The outfit became widely associated with her tiny custom Valentino handbag, but the white sandals also played an important visual role by continuing the light color of the accessory without competing with the dress.

Earlier that year, she used a fully monochromatic palette at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills on March 28. Her neon green Christopher John Rogers shirt gown featured voluminous sleeves and a sweeping train, while matching pointed-toe heels extended the saturated color beneath the hem.

Lizzo Switched From Platform Ankle Boots to Performance Footwear During the 2019 Jingle Ball Tour

The contrast between Lizzo’s red carpet and stage wardrobes became especially clear during the 2019 Jingle Ball concerts. At Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 13, she arrived in a silver-and-black checked Christian Siriano minidress distinguished by an oversized bow at one shoulder.

Black ankle boots grounded the short, sculptural dress and offered more coverage than the barely there sandals she frequently wore with formal gowns.

The appearance carried personal significance because it marked her first performance at Madison Square Garden. Onstage, she changed into a red embellished bodysuit designed for movement as she sang, danced, and played the flute.

She wore another red performance bodysuit at the Philadelphia Jingle Ball on December 11, continuing the vivid color story established at the other tour stops.

At the Los Angeles Jingle Ball on December 6, Lizzo paired leopard-print trousers and an asymmetrical black top with glossy black platform ankle boots. The substantial footwear balanced the wide-leg trousers while giving the red carpet look a heavier, more assertive finish.

For her performance, she changed into denim shorts, a crystal-covered silver bra top, and a transparent corset belt.

The shorter performance silhouette shifted attention away from the sweeping red carpet proportions and toward the stage-ready styling of the complete look.

Lizzo responded to criticism of the outfit she wore while attending a Los Angeles Lakers game in December 2019.

Throughout 2019, Lizzo’s footwear ranged from monochromatic platforms and minimalist sandals to pointed pumps, ankle boots, and performance-ready styles, illustrating how she adapted her shoes to each event rather than relying on a single signature look.

How Lizzo Styles Crystal Heels, Platforms, Sneakers, and Performance Boots

Whether finishing a couture gown with sculptural evening sandals or grounding a performance outfit with supportive boots, Lizzo chooses footwear that reinforces the purpose and mood of the clothing.
