Emily in Paris Footwear Deconstructed: Lily Collins’ Aquazzura Sandals and Louboutin Wave Pumps

On August 13, 2019, Lily Collins stepped onto the set of Emily in Paris in Paris, France, wearing one of the colorful looks that would help establish Emily Cooper’s maximalist wardrobe: a yellow Ganni co-ord grounded by black suede Aquazzura “Whisper Crystal” sandals.

The Aquazzura heels are easy to recognize once you get a closer look: black suede straps, gold square buckles, and rows of crystals tracing the edge of the sole.

The sparkling border explains why the sandals can resemble the Jimmy Choo “Dudette” crystal-embellished sandals or Jimmy Choo “Dochas” sandals at first glance, but Collins’ pair is Aquazzura’s “Whisper Crystal” style.

The “Whisper Crystal” is an older Aquazzura design and is no longer available. As of August 2026, Farfetch does, however, continue to carry newer crystal-embellished Aquazzura heels, including the Tequila, Love Struck, and Ce Soir lines.

With the shoe mystery settled, the rest of the look is just as specific to Patricia Field’s early vision for Emily.

The costume designer paired the Aquazzura sandals with Ganni’s Hemlock silk-mix printed top and matching asymmetric midi skirt, cinching the bright yellow separates with Rag Bone’s black leather “Field” studded waist belt.

Field finished the look with a canary-yellow Patricia Field ARTFASHION tote made from repurposed vegan leather and hand-painted by artist Jody Morlock.

Instead of the black Aquazzura sandals, Collins switched to vivid pink Christian Louboutin “Agneska” Wave pumps, a sculptural style defined by its undulating topline and flared heel.
