The cast and director of The Wrong Girls stepped out in New York City on Wednesday to promote the stoner comedy on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Kristen Stewart was joined by her wife and the film’s writer-director, Dylan Meyer, along with co-star Alia Shawkat for the appearance.
Stewart and Meyer both leaned into tailoring with sneakers, but approached the combination differently. Stewart stayed close to her familiar tomboy style in a black collared jacket, graphic tee, shorts, and Ruby Brown sneakers, while Meyer dressed down a chocolate-brown pinstriped suit with white Converse Chuck Taylors.

The Wrong Girls follows two codependent best friends who are struggling to get by until a case of mistaken identity turns their lives upside down. The film marks Meyer’s feature directorial debut and stars Stewart and Shawkat in the lead roles.

Kristen Stewart returned to the black Ruby Brown sneakers that have become part of her current footwear rotation, pairing them with shorts, a band tee, and a black Dickies jacket. Sneakers have been a recurring theme throughout her The Wrong Girls press appearances: just days earlier, she rotated between Adidas Dublin, Samba OG, and Samba Deco SPZL sneakers in New York, wearing the latter with everything from shorts to a black leather midi dress. Here, the Ruby Brown pair pushed that casual streak in a more punk-influenced direction.
She wore the Ruby Brown “3306 Dames” sneakers, which look a lot like the classic Converse Chuck Taylors. The shoes featured lightweight canvas uppers with traditional lace-up fronts threaded through silver-tone eyelets. Their mid-cut silhouette gave them a slightly taller profile at the ankles.
Like Converse, the sneakers also had rubber toe caps, though these appeared slightly narrower than the wider caps typically seen on Chuck Taylors. They added protection around the toes while keeping the shoes’ streamlined shape.
On the inner side, the sneakers had three metal grommets for airflow, compared with the two ventilation holes found on Converse sneakers, helping keep the feet cool and dry. A rounded patch sat on the inner side of the shaft, while an RB logo tag added a subtle branding detail.
This wasn’t Stewart’s first time wearing the pair. She wore the same Ruby Brown sneakers with a red-and-black Chanel crochet dress at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Full Phil in May 2026. Moving the shoes from a Cannes premiere to a television appearance also shows how easily the Chuck Taylor-inspired design works with both Chanel and Stewart’s more casual wardrobe.

Meyer wore the white canvas Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Low Tops, the iconic style first introduced in 1957. Created as a basketball shoe, the Chuck Taylor has since become a timeless everyday sneaker. Meyer’s chocolate-brown suit featured a long-line blazer with structured shoulders and a roomy fit, paired with matching high-waisted trousers with an extra-wide leg and relaxed drape. The thin vertical pinstripes added a classic menswear touch while also breaking up the deep brown color.

Alia Shawkat shifted the footwear mood completely, pairing her cornflower-blue minidress with light-beige Issey Miyake Mary Jane pumps.
