At the Carnival Row premiere in Berlin, Germany, on August 26, 2019, Cara Delevingne leaned into metallic dressing in a David Koma Resort 2020 gown, pairing its silver sequins with metallic platform heels that occasionally peeked out beneath the floor-length hem.

The long-sleeve column gown combined a black sequined bodice with a nude-toned, semi-sheer sequined skirt, creating the second-skin effect that earned the design comparisons to a “naked dress.”
Cara wore a more covered version than the sheer runway look and finished it with Graziela Gems diamond Everest earrings, an edgy updo with straight bangs, smoky metallic eye makeup, and black nails.

Her platforms continued the dress’s silver-and-chrome palette, a styling approach also seen in our guide to wearing metallic shoes.
Because David Koma’s column gown covered the shoes through most of the red-carpet photo call, however, only brief glimpses of the platforms are visible, and the footwear brand was not publicly confirmed.

Metallic footwear was already familiar territory for Cara, who has previously stepped out in silver Alejandra G heels and Alejandro Ingelmo “Tron” sneakers, while her Jimmy Choo campaign included champagne-glitter pumps and crystal-covered party shoes.
The open back also put Cara’s tattoos on display, including the distinctive pair of eyes inked on the back of her neck.

Inked in September 2016 by tattoo artist Bang Bang, the eyes create the illusion of looking outward from the back of her neck.
It sits just above a tattoo on her upper back inspired by Yantra tattooing, which she showed off at the Hollywood premiere of Carnival Row.

Cara’s first tattoo was a lion-faced tattoo on her index finger, which she got in May 2013.
