At the MTV Video Music Awards on August 26, 2019, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Blac Chyna matched her feathered Attico mini dress with the Italian label’s hot-pink “Venus” satin lace-up pumps.

The pointed-toe pumps featured slender stiletto heels and thin satin ribbons wrapped around her ankles and lower calves, drawing attention to her leg and foot tattoos. Their vivid pink satin closely matched her strapless Attico dress, creating a head-to-toe tonal look.

The Attico mini combined a fitted, corset-like silhouette with dense ostrich-feather trim and subtle faux-pearl embellishments. Chyna completed the look with a diamond tennis choker, drop earrings, a jeweled hair clip, and side-swept waves.

Blac Chyna’s Hot-Pink Attico Venus Satin Pumps

Rather than breaking up the monochromatic palette with a contrasting shoe, Chyna continued the pink through her footwear. Her Attico “Venus” pumps combined a sharply pointed toe with a slender stiletto heel and long satin ties wrapped around the ankle and lower calf.

The wraparound construction is one of the Venus design’s recognizable details. Diane Kruger wore the Attico Venus pumps in blue satin, while Chrissy Teigen styled the Venus pumps in leopard print, cinching their ankle ties over the hems of her jeans.

The satin finish also closely echoed the saturated pink of Chyna’s feathered mini. Instead of functioning as a neutral finishing touch, the pumps extended the dress’s color down to her feet, while the short hem left the ankle ties fully visible.

The Venus has appeared in several different finishes and colors over the years. Jodie Turner-Smith wore brown Attico Venus satin pumps with wraparound slingback ankle straps and contrasting white-capped stiletto heels, showing how the same pointed silhouette can work with a much more neutral palette.

How Kylie Jenner Styled the Same Attico Feather Dress

Earlier that month, Kylie Jenner wore the same $4,320 Attico feather mini while celebrating her 22nd birthday aboard a yacht in Italy.

Her styling clearly contrasted with Chyna’s VMAs look. Jenner wore the feather-covered mini barefoot with white-framed sunglasses, giving the statement dress a more relaxed vacation treatment. Chyna instead leaned into evening styling, pairing it with matching pointed-toe stilettos, diamond jewelry, and polished side-swept hair.

The strapless mini’s fitted foundation provided structure beneath the dense feather trim, while faux-pearl embellishments added another layer of texture. On Chyna, the short silhouette also ensured that the Attico pumps and their long ankle ties remained an important part of the outfit rather than disappearing beneath the dress.

The exposed ankle ties also worked particularly well with the mini length, framing Chyna’s leg and foot tattoos rather than covering them. This footwear approach has appeared elsewhere in her red-carpet wardrobe: Blac Chyna similarly highlighted her foot and ankle tattoos in embellished Sergio Rossi “Puzzle” sandals at the Maxim Hot 100 party in 2017.

Why Celebrities Keep Wearing Head-to-Toe Pink

Blac Chyna’s 2019 VMAs outfit shows the visual impact of carrying one vivid color from dress to shoes. Different textures — in her case, soft feathers against sleek satin pumps — add contrast without interrupting the head-to-toe pink palette.

In the years that followed, saturated pink became even more prominent in fashion. Valentino’s influential Pink PP collection turned an intense custom shade of pink into complete runway looks, while the later Barbiecore movement pushed tonal pink dressing further into mainstream celebrity style.

Chyna’s feathered Attico mini and matching Venus pumps predated both trends. Since then, celebrities have taken the same head-to-toe approach in very different directions, from tailored tweed and streamlined gowns to latex dresses and towering platform heels.
