On February 20, 2021, Sarah Jessica Parker visited her SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker store at New York City’s South Street Seaport in a layered mix of florals, plaid, and camel wool. The most distinctive styling was at her feet: bright red “Fawn” satin pumps from her namesake SJP footwear collection, worn with knee-high pink-and-red Gucci Lamé GG socks.
The bright red satin and pink Gucci hosiery created an intentionally mismatched effect, with the deep-red GG pattern picking up the color of the pumps. Against the floral dress and plaid blouse, the combination made the footwear another layer of the outfit rather than a neutral finishing touch.

Parker layered a black floral midi dress over a candy-colored plaid button-down blouse, allowing the contrasting collar, cuffs, and plaid pattern to show through the floral print.

Outside the store, she added a tailored, double-breasted camel coat over the mixed-print layers.
Her knee-high Gucci Pink Red Lamé GG socks were made in Italy from a metallic lurex and cotton-blend knit. The light-pink design features Gucci’s interlocking GG motif in deep red. The socks originally retailed for $185.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP Fawn Pumps and Their Place in Her Shoe Line
The red SJP “Fawn” pumps use a classic pointed-toe silhouette with a 4-inch stiletto heel and contrasting white grosgrain ribbon running vertically down the back seam. Produced in a wide range of colors over the years, Fawn became one of the defining pump silhouettes of SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker.
Parker launched the footwear label with George Malkemus III in 2014, building the collection around colorful pumps, sandals, boots, and other dress shoes distinguished by details such as the signature grosgrain ribbon. The brand ended its 10-year run in the fall of 2024 after announcing its closure that August. Its final U.S. boutique, at 385 Bleecker Street in New York City, closed on August 25, 2024.

For the rest of the look, SJP styled her naturally curly hair in a center-parted low ponytail and wore her signature smoky eye makeup.
She also wore a Masqd black tweed face mask with a metallic Pretty Connected mask chain strap around her neck.

How Celebrities Style Statement Socks With Heels
Pairing socks with heels changes the character of a formal shoe. A stiletto, pump, or Mary Jane can feel polished on its own, but visible hosiery introduces contrast, texture, and a less formal attitude. The result can make a familiar heel feel more playful while drawing additional attention to the shoe.
The effect can come from color, as with Parker’s pink-and-red Gucci socks and bright red Fawn pumps, or from texture through sheer, lace, ribbed, metallic, or embellished hosiery. Knee-high and ankle socks also change the visual line between the leg and shoe, while repeating a color from the hosiery in the footwear can make the pairing feel intentional.
The combination often draws on preppy, school-uniform, or retro references, but celebrities have also worn it with tailoring, eveningwear, and casual separates. Parker’s South Street Seaport outfit is one especially colorful example, while other celebrity looks show how the same idea can work with Mary Janes, slingbacks, platforms, and pointed pumps.
