Hailey and Justin Bieber made matching white Nike Air Force 1 Low sneakers the common thread in two otherwise different casual outfits as they headed to dinner at Tre Lune in Montecito on August 6, 2021.

Hailey wore hers with distressed denim shorts, a semi-sheer Bode shirt, and an oversized Alessandra Rich plaid cardigan, while Justin paired the same all-white sneaker with faded jeans and a striped Drew House polo.

The coordinated footwear is an easy example of why the Air Force 1 works so well for couple style: its simple white leather construction can connect two outfits without requiring the rest of the clothing to match. At 5′6¼″ (168.3 cm), with a US shoe size 8, Hailey has worn everything from towering designer heels to retro sneakers, and the Air Force 1 has repeatedly appeared in her off-duty wardrobe.

Justin Bieber Goes Relaxed in Loose-Laced Nike Air Force 1s

Justin wore a white long-sleeved Drew House polo with multicolored striped trim at the collar, sleeves, and cuffs. He paired it with relaxed light-wash jeans and an emerald-green ribbed beanie.

At his feet were all-white Nike sneakers, worn with the loose lacing that has become a recurring part of his casual footwear style. The roomy jeans, oversized polo, and low-top Air Force 1s all follow the same relaxed proportions.

Hailey Bieber Pairs Air Force 1s With Denim Shorts and an Oversized Cardigan

Hailey took a different approach to the same sneaker, combining her Air Force 1s with EB Denim Og shorts made from reworked vintage Levi’s jeans and a $435 off-white Bode long-sleeved shirt.

The semi-sheer cotton-net shirt featured a relaxed collar and button front, while the high-waisted denim shorts had distressed light-wash fabric and raw, frayed hems.

Over the shirt, she layered a blue-and-green checked cardigan from Alessandra Rich’s Fall 2021 collection.

Designed with a relaxed silhouette, the cardigan was knitted from a brushed mohair blend and finished with a V-neck, ribbed trims, and the label’s signature faux-pearl buttons. It was originally listed for $1,125.

Her accessories included Jennifer Fisher Natasha Huggies gold hoop earrings, an Anita Ko Zoe link necklace, and a Fallon Jewelry herringbone chain necklace.

She also carried a black Saint Laurent Le 5 À 7 hobo bag and finished the outfit with a neutral beige baseball cap.

Why Nike Air Force 1s Became a Hailey Bieber Off-Duty Staple

The Montecito outing was not a one-off appearance for the sneaker. Hailey has also worn Triple White Nike Air Force 1s with another casual date-night outfit, pairing them with a black-and-white look and a purple Bottega Veneta clutch.

She has returned to the silhouette with very different proportions, too. In Beverly Hills, she once wore Air Force 1s with a head-to-toe beige Extreme Cashmere outfit of a sweater, long coat, and wide-leg trousers, showing how the same low-top sneaker can work with both bare-leg denim looks and full-length monochromatic separates.

That repeat wear is consistent with Hailey’s broader interest in retro basketball-inspired sneakers. She has also been photographed in New Balance 550s, another court shoe that moved into everyday streetwear; our New Balance 550 guide traces that model from its 1989 basketball origins through its fashion revival.

Hailey and Justin Bieber Coordinate in Matching White Nike Air Force 1 Lows

The clearest point of coordination was at their feet. Both wore the white-on-white Nike Air Force 1 Low, but each used the shoe differently.

Hailey balanced the visual weight of her oversized cardigan with short denim cutoffs and low-top white sneakers, while Justin continued the loose silhouette of his polo and jeans down to his loosely laced pair.

Why the White Nike Air Force 1 Works With Almost Everything

Designed by Bruce Kilgore and introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1 began as a basketball shoe and was the first basketball model to incorporate Nike Air cushioning. The Low version combines a leather upper with stitched overlays, a perforated toe box, padded collar, Nike Air cushioning in the heel, and a rubber outsole.

The Biebers’ outfits also illustrate the broader appeal of styling classic white sneakers. Hailey uses the clean footwear to ground plaid knitwear, distressed denim, and layered jewelry, while Justin lets the same white shoe sit quietly beneath looser denim and streetwear.

That neutrality lets the Air Force 1 move between different wardrobes without looking tied to one particular outfit or fashion cycle.

From Streetwear to High Fashion: How Celebrities Keep the Nike Air Force 1 Relevant

The Biebers are part of a much bigger Air Force 1 story. Its clean shape makes it easy to wear with denim, dresses, tailoring, and athleisure, while its roots in basketball, hip-hop, and streetwear give it a cultural identity that goes well beyond a basic white sneaker.

Celebrity outfits over the years show just how far the silhouette can stretch, from simple Triple White Lows to high-tops and designer collaborations.

That same range is visible on the resale market. As of September 2026, StockX listings for Nike Air Force 1s showed the classic Air Force 1 Low ’07 White with a lowest ask of $112, while collaboration-driven versions occupied very different price points: the Supreme White started at $160, the Drake NOCTA Certified Lover Boy at $130, and the Travis Scott Ice Blue at $557.

StockX prices fluctuate by size, supply, and demand, but the spread captures something important about the Air Force 1. The same basic silhouette can be an everyday white sneaker or the foundation for a collectible collaboration. That mix of versatility, comfort, hip-hop and streetwear history, and an enduring collaboration culture helps explain why the Air Force 1 still appears on celebrities more than four decades after its basketball-court debut.
