The cast of Adults brought plenty of sultry style to the Season 2 premiere of the FX sitcom, held at Metrograph in New York City. The red carpet leaned heavily into sleek, sexy silhouettes and statement footwear, with the stars putting their own spin on the season’s biggest fashion trends.

Lucy Freyer turned heads in a figure-hugging latex midi dress by Versace, pairing the bold look with sleek slingback pumps by Saint Laurent. Amita Rao went in a softer but equally sultry direction, wearing a Wiederhoeft blazer and lace dress with Betzábe heels for a romantic take on evening dressing.

Guests including Mia Weathers-Fowler also embraced the all-black trend, adding a contemporary touch with the season’s trendy thong heels. Ashley Avignone took a more understated approach in a gray midi dress, finishing the look with crystal-embellished black heels.

Lucy Freyer Goes High-Shine in Saint Laurent Slingbacks and Versace Latex

Lucy Freyer’s glossy Saint Laurent “Vendome” pumps matched the sultry energy of her entire look, adding a sleek finish to her figure-hugging dress. The sharp slingback silhouette also reflects Saint Laurent’s ongoing preference for architectural pumps, a look Sofia Carson embraced in the house’s sculptural Lee slingback pumps.

Made in Italy from glazed calf leather, the pumps featured elongated squared toes that gave the silhouette a sharp, pointed appearance. The clean lines made the shoes look sleek and sexy without extra embellishment.

A slim elasticated slingback strap kept them securely in place and added another delicate detail to the design. These pumps featured gold-tone logo plaques on the insoles and roughly 4-inch, slightly flared stiletto heels, adding height and a modern architectural touch.

As of August 2026, Mytheresa carries Freyer’s black Saint Laurent Vendome 110 pumps for $1,100, alongside brown leather and burgundy patent versions of the 110mm silhouette and a lower-heeled Vendome 50. The exact black Vendome 110 pumps are also available for $1,100 at Net-a-Porter.

Freyer paired her Saint Laurent pumps with a glossy black latex midi dress from Versace that hugged her curves from top to bottom.

The bustier-style bodice featured delicate straps accented with gold-tone Medusa hardware, while a thin belt with a Medusa buckle drew even more attention to her defined waist. The dress skimmed her hips before falling below the knees, creating a sultry silhouette.

Lucy Freyer kept the rest of her styling simple, skipping jewelry so the dress and shoes could take center stage. Her blonde hair was swept into an updo with loose tendrils framing her face, while soft smoky eyes, defined lashes, and a deep berry-red lip completed the glamorous look.

Amita Rao Mixes Betzábe Crystal Heels With Wiederhoeft Lace and Tailoring

Priced at $1,195, Amita Rao’s Betzábe heels balanced a barely-there silhouette with an unexpected dose of sparkle. Rather than covering the straps in embellishment, graduated crystals traced the footbed, drawing attention to the shape of the shoe while leaving the satin upper beautifully simple.

It’s a detail that has become something of a signature for the Mexican label: Gabrielle Union wore similarly crystal-trimmed Betzábe sandals to the 2025 Fashion Trust U.S. Awards.

A slim satin strap crossed Rao’s toes, while an elasticated slingback secured the heel. The curved, flared heel added a sculptural finish, giving the delicate sandals a little more character without competing with the crystals.

Rao paired her heels with a blazer-dress hybrid from Wiederhoeft’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, mixing sharp tailoring with the label’s signature romantic drama. The ivory floral-jacquard jacket featured a classic collar and long sleeves, while a nipped-in waist and black floral lace appliqué gave the structured silhouette a more feminine shape.

Black Chantilly lace traced the collar, lapels, and front before continuing into a sheer skirt that fell from the hips to the floor. The contrast between tailored jacquard and transparent lace felt distinctly Wiederhoeft, a label that has also dressed Thandiwe Newton in sculpted gold glamour and Ginnifer Goodwin in an embellished, fairytale-inspired gown.

The sheer Chantilly lace revealed Rao’s legs underneath, giving the otherwise polished tailoring a sultrier edge. She kept the finishing touches focused on earrings and rings, leaving her neck bare so the intricate neckline remained visible. Tousled dark hair and neutral makeup completed the romantic, slightly undone effect.

Mia Weathers-Fowler Embraces the Thong-Heel Revival in ’90s-Inspired Black

Mia Weathers-Fowler arrived in a minimalist all-black look that still felt light and summery. She slipped into thong-style heeled sandals, bringing the casual ease of a flip-flop to the red carpet.

She’s in good company: Emma Stone wore black thong heels by The Row to the 2026 Actor Awards, while Katie Holmes chose Herbert Levine’s “Kiss and Tell” sandals for the American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala. Jodie Comer offered another take on the trend in Christen’s more architectural “Helix” sandals.

Weathers-Fowler’s version was decidedly pared back, with slim thong straps and open square toes keeping the silhouette clean. The barely-there design also put her powder-blue pedicure on display, adding an unexpected touch of color to the monochromatic look. Slender heels provided the finishing lift without taking away from the sandals’ easy, minimalist feel.

Embracing the ’90s minimalist revival, Weathers-Fowler paired the thong sandals with a floor-length black column dress that hugged her figure. The slip-style dress drew inspiration from classic ’90s eveningwear, with ultra-thin spaghetti straps and a low-cut neckline.

Tiny micro-shimmer embellishments were scattered across the black fabric, adding a hint of sparkle and a starry-night effect. The contrast between the relaxed thong sandals and the sleek evening dress gave the whole look an understated, easygoing vibe.

Mia Weathers-Fowler kept her accessories minimal with just thin hoop earrings, leaving her neck, wrists, and fingers bare. Her striking, voluminous afro added texture and shape, complementing the dress’s clean lines and keeping the focus on her natural beauty.

Ashley Avignone Adds Crystal Heels to Her Minimalist Gray Midi Dress

Ashley Avignone chose minimalist heels that paired perfectly with her sleek look. The open-toe sandals featured a slim strap across the toes and a buckled slingback strap, while a crystal panel across the front added a pretty touch of sparkle.

The embellishment stood out against the understated design, recalling Kerry Washington’s Sophia Webster Rosalind sandals, another minimalist black style finished with crystal details. Towering heels added height and gave the delicate sandals a more dramatic finish.

Avignone paired them with a gray heathered midi dress from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini’s Resort 2024 collection, creating a sophisticated contemporary evening look.

The dress featured clean lines, with a square neckline framed by thin spaghetti straps and subtle seams running through the fitted bodice. Hayley Atwell has also worn Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini on the red carpet, pairing the label with Jimmy Choo pumps.

It also had an open back, adding a daring element to the design, secured with a strap at the back that highlighted her defined waist before the dress hugged her hips and flowed into a slim column skirt that fell to mid-calf.

The streamlined gray dress was chic on its own, with a bright teal feather pom-pom at one shoulder keeping the look from feeling too serious. Its unexpected burst of color and texture broke up the minimalist silhouette, giving Avignone’s polished look a playful finish.

I would have preferred the look without the necklace, letting the square neckline stand out on its own. Her chunky rings and delicate earrings still added a nice touch, while her bold red manicure brought another pop of color.
