At the “Peter Rabbit” premiere at The Grove on February 3, 2018, Byrne wore Jimmy Choo “Tia” pumps with an Erdem Spring 2018 floral dress.

Built on a classic pointed-toe silhouette with a 100mm (about 4-inch) heel, the dark suede-and-satin pumps were covered in Swarovski crystals of varying sizes, creating a textured, three-dimensional effect.

The combination could easily have looked too busy, but the black running through Erdem’s Victorian-influenced Spring 2018 floral dress connected visually with the dark pumps. Byrne added a vintage Neil Lane brooch at the hip rather than the traditional lapel position, along with Ana Khouri statement ear cuffs. A relaxed topknot and cobalt-blue eyeliner kept the otherwise formal look from feeling too severe.

A week earlier, at the G’Day USA Black Tie Gala at the InterContinental Los Angeles on January 27, 2018, Byrne had chosen another 100mm statement pump: Sophia Webster’s black satin “Lilico.” Instead of all-over crystals, its pointed toe featured a three-dimensional flower made of metallic leather petals and clustered crystals.
